The Katsina State Government has officially handed over the site to the investors in preparation for the takeoff of the construction of an LNG/L-CNG facility in the state. The site for the project was handed over to Greenville LNG Ltd in Katsina ahead of its groundbreaking ceremony, expected to take place soon.
This development is coming on the backdrop of visit made by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’ to Greenville LNG facility in Kaduna, recently, a statement made available to BusinessDay by Ibrahim K. Mohammed, chief press secretary to Katsina State Governor, said.
The project, which is described by clean energy experts as a landmark project, will provide a cost-effective alternative to conventional fossil fuels, promote environmental sustainability, and stimulate economic growth across Katsina State.
The statement said that the project on completion would be delivering critical support for gas supply to power existing and potential industries in the state competitively.
The administration promises to remain steadfast in its commitment to fostering green innovation and industrial development for a more prosperous future, the statement added.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Umar Faisa Kaita; the Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Investment, Adnan Nahabu; the Economic Adviser to the State Government, Khalil Nura Khalil; and the SSA on Climate Change, Sulaiman Sa’ad Ribadu.
