He stated that cybersecurity solutions bought outside don’t have the domicile problem and noted that they are not resolving the local cybersecurity risk, while adding that there is a need to solve African cybersecurity risk because they impact local programs that contribute to empowering the people.

He said, “Kenya prioritises cyber security governance, which Nigeria needs to learn. There is no need for new regulations, but rather to have the implementation of already-made principles. Kenya and India have been able to create cybersecurity governance.”
Edward Onyenweaku, chief risk officer at eTranzact, highlighted that there are two pillars, which include security and safety, and most attacks come from human beings.
“In today’s era, no business can survive without adequate security. No system is 100 percent secure, but we just have to make it harder for hackers,” he said.
Kelechi Okwuriki, head of payment processing at Nomba, stated that there is a need to ensure that agents adhere to standards that require agent education through social media, in-app pop-ups, quizzes, and so on.
“Humans are the weakest link. Fraud cases come down to agents giving away OTPs. When we began to spend a lot of money on education, the rates of these cases reduced significantly.
