The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled September 24, 25, and 26, 2025, for the federal government to conclude its case in the prolonged trial of Sambo Dasuki (retd.), former National Security Adviser.
Presiding judge, Justice Peter Lifu, instructed the prosecution to present any remaining witnesses and submit all outstanding evidence before the defence opens its case.
The charges, comprising an amended seven-count indictment, were initially brought against Dasuki during the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
Since 2015, Dasuki has been on trial facing seven amended charges brought during the tenure of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

At the previous court session, prosecution witness Monsur Mohammed, an exhibits keeper with the Department of State Services (DSS), testified that following Dasuki’s arrest, searches were conducted at his residences in Abuja, Kaduna, and Sokoto for firearms and cash.
Under cross-examination by Oladipupo Okpeseyi, SAN, Mohammed stated that the items seized from Dasuki’s home at 46 Nelson Mandela Street, Asokoro, included two Freedom Radio CDs related to Jokolo, two cheque books from GTBank, two BlackBerry phones, one Nokia phone, a flash drive, an Apple laptop, and a bank statement.
Other items recovered were a Visa card, an approval letter issued to Afri-Media Integrated Ltd for a radio station, a CD on the arrest and execution of Mohammed Yusuf, $500 in cash, 533 Saudi Riyals, the data page of Abubakar Dasuki Ibrahim’s passport, his HSBC bank account book, and a cheque book from Habibson Ltd.
The court accepted these items as exhibits numbered MSD 015 to MSD 034 without objections from Dasuki’s defense counsel, Ahmed Usman.
In a separate search at another property in Sabo Birni, Sokoto State, the witness reported the recovery of $150,000 and N37.6 million, which were deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The prosecution said it would call on the DSS to present this money as exhibits in court. No items were found at the Sultan Abubakar Road residence in Sokoto.
The prosecution then asked for an adjournment to introduce additional materials allegedly recovered during four searches of Dasuki’s properties.
Justice Lifu granted the adjournment but warned the government to be ready to conclude its case at the next hearing, after which the defense would begin. The judge scheduled September 24, 25, and 26 for the final stages of the trial.
