Abba Kabir Yusuf, Kano State Governor, has urged political leaders at the grassroots across the state to intensify efforts to ensure the success of the ongoing online membership registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor made the call on Thursday while hosting local government political leaders from the 44 councils in the state to an Iftar gathering at the Government House in Kano.
According to a statement issued by Mustapha Muhammad, chief press secretary to the governor, Governor Yusuf described the digital registration initiative as a strategic move aimed at strengthening the party’s structure and improving transparency in membership documentation across wards and local government areas.
Yusuf urged party executives, ward leaders and other stakeholders to intensify mobilisation and awareness campaigns to encourage both new and existing members to participate actively in the online registration process.
He noted that the exercise would modernise the party’s membership database and enhance efficiency, accountability and coordination within the party’s organisational framework.
The governor further called on party stakeholders at the grassroots to work collectively in mobilising supporters to ensure the success of the registration exercise.
Speaking on behalf of the local government political leaders, the chairperson of the National Association of Local Government Chairmen (ALGON) in Kano State, Sa’adatu Salisu Yusha’u, reaffirmed the support and loyalty of council leaders to the governor.
She also congratulated Yusuf on what she described as the successful conduct of the APC State Party Congress, noting that it would further strengthen unity and stability within the party in the state.
