The Young Members Committee of the International Law Association (ILA) Nigeria Branch convened a forward-looking conference on 26 February 2026, bringing together emerging legal practitioners and thought leaders to examine the evolving role of young lawyers in shaping the future of justice.
The event, organized by the ILA Nigeria YMC, featured robust discussions on innovation in legal practice, professional ethics, and the growing influence of young practitioners in international law and policy development. Speakers emphasized the need for adaptability, interdisciplinary knowledge, and technology-driven solutions to meet contemporary legal challenges.
Delivering the Keynote Address, Michael Otu, Group Legal Counsel and Board Secretary (General Manager), Zenith Bank, underscored the importance of institutional resilience and ethical leadership in a rapidly changing global landscape.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the ILA NG YMC, Joshua Daranijo highlighted the committee’s commitment to creating platforms that empower young lawyers to contribute meaningfully to national and international legal discourse.
