Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has confirmed that Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended Governor of Rivers State, recently visited him in Abuja alongside two other state governors.
Wike, disclosed this during a monthly media parley held on Monday in Abuja
The visit, Wike revealed, was part of ongoing reconciliation efforts to resolve the lingering political crisis in Rivers State.

He confirmed the visit, saying, “Yes, he came,” amid growing speculation about a possible political truce between both factions.
The FCT Minister also used the opportunity to comment on recent political developments, particularly the defection of Ifeanyi Okowa, former Delta State Governor and PDP Vice Presidential candidate in the 2023 elections to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He described Okowa’s move as a strategic and honest political decision, stating that the former governor chose not to live in pretence by supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while still remaining in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to him, “He said he was going to support the President. That’s the crime? But the Chairman of the Board of Trustees—the conscience of the party—endorsed Alex Otti of the Labour Party for a second term, and no one is saying anything about that,” Wike argued.
He said, “Okowa’s open support for President Tinubu while defecting to the ruling party shows political maturity. “He is a smart politician. I’m surprised that PDP didn’t see it coming,” he said.

Wike also revealed he had earlier warned PDP leaders about internal discontent, including the risk of governors defecting due to unresolved issues within the party.
“I won’t mention names, but I told them the way things are going, something like this could happen. Let’s see how it all plays out,” he concluded.
