Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will be out of action until the end of September as he continues recovery from an ankle injury sustained while on international duty with the Super Eagles.
The 26-year-old picked up the knock during Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda two weeks ago and has already missed Galatasaray’s league win over Eyupspor and their heavy 5-1 Champions League defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to reports from Fanatik, via Hurriyet, Osimhen is expected to miss two further matches: upcoming Super Lig fixtures against Konyaspor and Alanyaspor, before making his return.
Initial hopes were that the injury was minor, as Osimhen walked off the pitch unaided, but further assessments revealed a more serious issue. His absence leaves Galatasaray without its main goal threat at a crucial point in the season.
The forward is now targeting a comeback on September 30, when Galatasaray face Premier League leaders Liverpool in a decisive Champions League group-stage clash.
His return is seen as vital to the Turkish champions’ hopes of competing with Europe’s elite.
