Super Eagles and Werder Bremen striker Victor Boniface has resumed training after spending months on the sidelines with a knee injury.
Boniface shared the update on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, posting a clip of himself back on the grass as he steps up his recovery.
“Help me post this one too; I dey training,” he wrote.
The 25-year-old Nigerian forward underwent surgery in January in Austria to address a recurring knee injury.
Boniface had struggled with the injury during his 2025/26 loan spell at Werder Bremen, with the condition failing to improve over the course of the season. That ultimately led to the decision to proceed with surgery in Innsbruck, Austria.
Following the successful operation, he began a structured rehabilitation programme and has now resumed light training under the supervision of medical staff at Bayer Leverkusen.
His return to training has been met with widespread support from fans eager to see him back in competitive action.
Boniface’s return comes at a pivotal moment. If he remains fit and regains his clinical form, he is expected to be a cornerstone for the Super Eagles at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
