Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc, in partnership with the Car Love Show and K-Cool Automobile, has launched an initiative to promote safety awareness and protect motorists across the country.
At an interactive session organised by Veritas, a community of car owners, including female e-hailing drivers gathered to mark the company’s first step in a broader plan to promote road safety and reduce preventable vehicle-related accidents in Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, Adaobi Nwakuche, managing director/CEO, emphasised the company’s commitment to fostering a safety-first culture, starting in Lagos and expanding the initiative nationwide.
“This initiative is about prevention, education, and safety. We’re starting here in Lagos, but the plan is to roll it out across all our branches,” Nwakuche said.
“When people understand how to maintain their vehicles, they reduce the chances of accidents, protect lives, and make our roads safer for everyone. That’s the kind of impact we’re committed to as a responsible insurer.”
Arinze Adigwe, head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, described the event as a CSR initiative focused on direct community impact.
“This isn’t about selling insurance; it’s about being present where it matters. Educating everyday car owners on basic maintenance is one way to reduce claims, yes, but more importantly, it’s how we help people stay safe and avoid harm,” Adigwe stated.
“Through this platform, we’re enabling conversations that ultimately contribute to a safer society.”
The event featured free vehicle diagnostics, interactive questions and answer sessions, and one-on-one consultations with automotive professionals from K-Cool Automobile Workshop and Academy.
Oluwakayode Increase Osorun, general manager at K-Cool, provided insights on essential maintenance practices and emphasised the importance of using the correct components and fluids for each vehicle.
“We took time to guide participants on proper maintenance routines from the right type of engine oil to the appropriate brake fluid, transmission oil, and even tyre choices,” Osorun explained.
“When car owners use the wrong products or ignore small warning signs, the risk of breakdowns and accidents increases. Simple knowledge can prevent major losses.”
Adisa, host of the Car Love Show, which is proudly sponsored by Veritas Kapital commended the initiative for its direct engagement with the car community.
“This isn’t just an outreach, it’s a movement. Veritas Kapital is humanising its brand and showing that it genuinely cares about its customers and their everyday realities,” he said.
Licensed in 1973 by the National Insurance Commission, Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc has grown into one of Nigeria’s most reliable providers of general insurance, combining strong service delivery with purposeful community engagement.
