President Bola Tinubu on Monday, presided over the meeting of the Police Council.
The Police Council meeting which was established in 1989, is unusually presided over by the President and also attended by Governors of the 36 States
The meeting is used to amongst others things confirm the appointment of the Inspector General of the Police.
The President had last week announced that he will summon the meeting to confirm Olatunji Disu as the new Inspector General of the Police.
Disu was appointed as acting IGP last week, following the exit of Kayode Egbetokun.
The meeting is expected to announce the confirmation of Disu as the IGP, amongst others
