The Super Falcons defeated the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 3–1 in the second leg of their international friendly in Yaoundé on Tuesday.
The victory at the Military Stadium was a fitting response to Saturday’s narrow 1–0 defeat and concluded Nigeria’s on-field preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to kick off in Morocco in two weeks.

Three days after losing the first encounter by a lone goal, the Super Falcons returned to northern Yaoundé determined to overturn the result. Head Coach Justin Madugu introduced seven changes to the side beaten at the weekend, but Cameroon once again struck early with a seventh-minute opener.
Nigeria responded with composure. Chinwendu Ihezuo levelled in the 32nd minute, rising above her marker to power home a header from Rinsola Babajide’s cross. Just before half-time, Babajide completed the turnaround, reacting quickest in a crowded penalty area to put Nigeria ahead in the 43rd minute.
Madugu’s reshaped midfield pressed higher up the pitch and closed central channels more efficiently, restricting Cameroon to speculative efforts.
In the 64th minute, captain Rasheedat Ajibade delivered a precise cross from the right, and Michelle Alozie sealed the win with a commanding diving header to make it 3–1.
Both sides utilised the two-legged friendly as part of their build-up to the 14th edition of WAFCON, scheduled for March 17 to April 3 in Morocco.
