Kogi State Police Command of the Nigeria Police Force has said that it had rescued three kidnapped victims from Ankomi forest in the State.
A Press Statement signed and issued by William Aya, Police Public Relations Officer, on Monday in Lokoja, the State Capital, indicated that “The Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Obajana Division in collaboration with the Army and Fulani Vigilantes rescued three kidnapped victims during the ongoing raid operations at Ankomi forest.

“All the victims were rescued unhurt after a gun duel with the hoodlums in the bush. Due to the superior firepower of the joint security team, the hoodlums abandoned their victims and fled with gunshot injuries.
“It was later revealed that the victims, comprising one Musa Abdullahi of Mangu LGA of Plateau State and one Abdulazeez Adamu of Okene, Kogi State, were both abducted on 15/5/2025 from one J5 vehicle along Osara road on their way from Ekpoma in Edo State heading towards Jos, Plateau State. While the third victim one Yusuf Ibrahim of Zaria Local Government, Kaduna State, was abducted from a trailer on the same date and location.

“The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, psc commended the joint security team for their outstanding gallantry displayed during the bush combing, while assuring law-abiding people of Kogi State that the Command is ever determined in collaboration with other security agencies to rid Kogi State of all forms of crimes and criminality
“To this end, the Command wishes to notify the adjoining communities to be on the lookout for anyone seeking medical attention in the nearby area and report to the nearest security formation”.
