The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspects in Mansur, Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.
This was contained in a press conference by the public relations officer of the command, Nafiu Habib. Said that the arrested suspects include Ayuba Ahmadu and Danlami Ayuba, both males from Bogwas village in the same Alkaleri LGA.
He said that the suspects were found in possession of 560 litres of petroleum motor spirit (PMS).
The suspects confessed to selling fuel to bandits in the area, and each of the suspects was carrying a container with 280 litres on a Honda motorcycle.
Other things recovered from the suspects include 2 AK-47s, 3 Dane guns, 200 live ammunition, 40 empty shells, 12 Shape Knives,18 Cutlasses, 1 Axe and 2 Sticks.

In another development, on the 1st of February, the patrol team from Kirfi Division responded to suspected seizures of motorist movement in the Kirfi area along the Bauchi-Gombe highway. It was discovered that the federal highway was blocked by miscreants near Kalajanga Hamlet.
The PPRO said that during the operation, the team confronted and overpowered the culprit’s which led to the arrest of the siblings Isiya Nasiru 20yrs and Umaru Nasiru 18 years old.
Exhibits recovered from items include sticks, A charm bulletproof shirt, 1 Live Ammunition, a facemask, Phones, and Other personal items.
Again, on the 27th January, 2026, an intelligence report stated that one Abdulhamid Mohammed was kidnapped from Bara Village, a combined team of operatives and local quasi-security outfits tracked the kidnappers to their hideout.
He further said that the team engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel, neutralised one suspected Kidnapper, and arrested the kingpin, Abdulkadir Adamu. Two more captives were safely rescued and taken to the hospital for medical attention.
The exhibits recovered during the operation include 3 fabricated revolver guns, 1 fabricated SMG gun rifle, 3 live cartridges, 1 Empty cartridge, 1 Chain and Padlock, 2 keypad phones, A blindfolded scrap, and Cutlasses.
While the state police commissioner, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, remains unwavering in its resolve to create and maintain a safe and secure environment for all.
