The National Caretaker Committee (NCC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of Senator Buruji Kashamu for a period of one month.
Before his suspension, Kashamu was among the candidates vying the for the position of national chairman of the party at the ongoing convention.
Kashamu who represents Ogun East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has since called his suspension from the party “illegal”. According to him, he was neither accused of committing any crime nor asked to come and defend himself before any committee, hence the NCC’s pronouncement was contrary to the rules.
The party’s NCC leadership did not give reasons for the suspension of Kashamu but promised to give details later.
