The All Progressives Congress (APC) Leaders’ Forum in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State has urged party members to close ranks and embrace unity ahead of the August 8, 2026, gubernatorial election in the state.
The call was contained in a communiqué issued on Sunday in Osogbo by Olatunbosun Oyintiloye and Tunji Adesokun, co-conveners of the Forum, following a meeting of party leaders and stakeholders in the local government area.

According to the Forum, a united APC would have little difficulty reclaiming Osun State, stressing that the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, stands a strong chance of winning the election if members work together with a shared purpose.
The communiqué described Oyebamiji as a loyal, committed and highly experienced politician, adding that his candidacy has positioned the party for victory.
However, it warned that success would only be guaranteed if party members at all levels shun internal divisions and remain focused on the collective goal.
“We are approaching a major election, and we must ensure that we go into the poll as a united and cohesive group.
“The choice of Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate has made the task easier, but our leaders, both at the state and national levels, must still work hard and prevent internal sabotage.
“We, the members of the Forum, are in full alignment with the choice of Oyebamiji as our flag bearer, and we will mobilise for his victory across the grassroots”, the Forum stated.
The group appealed to APC leaders at the state and national levels to intensify efforts to reconcile all interests within the party, noting that unity and inclusiveness were critical to electoral success.
It also reiterated an earlier agreement reached by APC leaders in Obokun LGA that members should abandon allegiance to other aspirants once the party produces its candidate, regardless of the constitutional mode of selection.
While commending the party leadership for ensuring a peaceful governorship primary in the state, the Forum urged them to reach out to aggrieved members and bring them back into the fold to strengthen the party ahead of the election.
The communiqué further noted that there were clear indications that the electorate in Osun State were eager for the return of the APC to power, but cautioned that party members must avoid divisive tendencies that could undermine the party’s chances.
“With the dedication and commitment of members, victory at the poll will be easier to achieve,” the Forum said.
The APC Leaders’ Forum also commended President Bola Tinubu; Nentawe Yilwatda, national chairman of the party, Bisi Akande, national leader, Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Ajibola Basiru, national secretary of the party, Sooko Lawal, Osun State APC chairman, Sola Akinwunmi, leader of the APC Elders’ Forum in the state, and other party leaders for their commitment to the growth and stability of the party.
