Omnicom Group has secured MTN’S marketing services job for the second time. This follows a competitive pitch process involving other multinational agencies.
The group handled MTN marketing between 2017 till the second round of bidding which it also won.
On the value of the business, Group Business Director, SPV Communication Solution, a representative of the Omnicom Group, Saidat Lawal-mohammed later told Businessday that she is not at liberty to explain the amount but said it is not a small business. “We are happy that we are really ready to add more value to MTN business”, she said.

In a statement, she said “We’ve all had a tough year and this announcement couldn’t have come at a better time as a reward for the hard work and commitment of the team. We look forward to supporting the MTN Group as they achieve great feats over the next few years”.
“MTN is delighted with the outcome of the Global Marketing Services RFP. The calibre of submissions from all bidders was of an exceptional standard, despite the unusual circumstances we find ourselves in,” commented Bernice Samuels, Group Executive for Marketing in the statement.
