The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) stated on Monday that it had begun reviewing its regulatory procedures as the country prepares to implement the National Single Window (NSW) for Trade.
The digital platform, scheduled for launch on 27 March 2026, is aimed at streamlining trade and port operations by allowing importers, exporters, and government agencies to submit and process trade-related documentation through a single electronic interface.
NAFDAC, in a statement, said it had undertaken several measures to ensure smooth integration with the NSW, including aligning its digital platforms with the national system, updating operational guidelines and procedures, and strengthening collaboration with other government agencies involved in trade facilitation and border control.

The agency said it is also focusing on capacity building, sensitising staff to use the platform effectively, and updating regulatory documentation on its website to reflect the integration with the NSW portal.
According to NAFDAC, these steps are intended to enhance transparency, reduce duplication of processes, and minimize delays in cargo clearance, supporting Nigeria’s broader goal of improving the ease of doing business.
Mojisola Adeyeye, Director-General of NAFDAC urged importers, exporters, manufacturers, and other stakeholders dealing with regulated products to familiarise themselves with the NSW platform and comply with the updated regulatory procedures as the system comes into operation.
She reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting public health while facilitating legitimate trade, noting that integration into the National Single Window represents an important step in modernizing Nigeria’s trade processes.
