Manchester City’s bid to retain the Premier League title suffered another setback after a surprise 2–2 draw against relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
The Citizens dropped crucial points at home, leaving Pep Guardiola’s side seven points adrift of league leaders Arsenal after the Gunners edged Brighton 1–0 at the same time.

Man City twice took the lead but were pegged back on both occasions, with Elliot Anderson’s brilliantly curled finish 13 minutes from time securing a valuable point for Forest.
Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring for City in the 31st minute after Rayan Cherki drifted into the box and delivered a cross that the forward volleyed past Matz Sels from close range.
Forest responded against the run of play in the 56th minute. Ola Aina burst down the right and delivered a cross that Igor Jesus nodded down for Morgan Gibbs-White, who cleverly back-heeled past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
City quickly restored their advantage in the 62nd minute when Rodri powered home a header from Rayan Ait-Nouri’s corner, although Forest protested that Sels had been impeded.
However, Guardiola’s men failed to kill off the contest and were punished in the 76th minute. Anderson exchanged passes with Callum Hudson-Odoi before curling a superb strike into the bottom corner from outside the box.
Savinho almost rescued victory for City deep into stoppage time, but his effort was cleared off the line by Murillo with the final kick of the game.
The result leaves Arsenal firmly in control of the title race as they chase their first league crown since 2004.
