Leventis motors, the authorized dealer for Foton trucks have launched five new truck models into the Nigerian market.
The different models include BJ 1020 which has a 1 tonne pay load, BJ 1039; the 2 tonne truck with longer wheel base, BJ 1069; with a 5,000 kg payload and the BJ 1151 which has 7990kg payload.
According to the Country Manager of Foton, Peter Feng, the brand is recognized as the number 1 best seller in the Chinese commercial truck market for 11 successive years. Foton is also one of Asia’s top selling commercial vehicle manufacturers of medium, heavy duty and light weight trucks.
“Foton has had a 20 percent growth rate globally in the past 5 years and is one of the leading vehicle manufacturers in the world, so I am certain that these new products will satisfy the Nigerian market”, he said.

Speaking at the event, Leventis Motors Brand Manager, Temitope Falode explained that these trucks were specifically made for Nigerian roads. “We have assembled plants in Ibadan where we assemble the trucks so you can be sure to get any part you need from us. Our customers can be sure that they are being sold original products at very affordable prices. Leventis motors also offers warranty and after sales services because we have enough confidence in Foton products”, he said.
Head of After sales service, Leventis Motors, Chris Thornton said; “We maintain trucks for prominent companies including Nigerian bottling company and we have warehouses at, Apapa, Port-Harcourt, Ibadan, Abuja and Benin City where we offer after sales services including driver training, mechanic training, full technical assistance, warranty financing options, servicing and maintenance of trucks.”
Talking about the new trucks, Falode stated that “the one tonne BJ 1020 is the best of its kind in Nigeria. The engine capacity is 1.1litre and the power is 52 horse-powers (HP) and
it is also one of the high gross vehicles weight with an improved engine technology and longer wheel base. The high payload translates into higher earnings.”
“Although it is very rare to see a 1 tonne truck with factory fitted air conditioning, it is my pleasure to tell you that this new Foton trucks have been fitted with inbuilt AC which makes them unique. The BJ 1039 is our 2 tone truck which also has a longer wheel base and one of the best warranty packages available for trucks, while the BJ 1049 with 3.5
tonne capacity has an Isuzu engine which is the best engine available for trucks and the BJ 1069 has a horse power of 122 the max slope of climb is 25 percent. Its fuel tank is 120 litres. It has a diaphragm spring clutch which is an added advantage because the diaphragm prevents oil or grease from entering into the clutch”, he added.
All Foton trucks are assembled and sold by Leventis motors and are equipped with fuel filters. The body application and spare parts are also built locally in Nigeria so it saves customers the hassle of searching for necessary spare parts.
