The 2026 Area Council election in the Kuje took off at a slow pace on Saturday, as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, arrived late at their polling units.
The same trends were noticed at the first four polling units visited.
At the Kuchiayako Primary school polling unit, none of the officials had arrived as of 7:30 am, as voters and a few security personnel arrived as early as 7 am.

Many voters also waited patiently before the INEC officials arrived at about 7:40 am at the polling unit located behind the Area Council Secretariat, in Kuje.
