The Induze Tech Foundation has launched the Tech Bridge Program, a digital innovation and technology learning initiative for secondary school students. The programme commenced on Monday, March 2, bringing together over 40 secondary schools across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for an online opening session. The initiative has received approval from the FCT Secondary Education Board.
The foundation operates on the principle that all students should have the opportunity to learn computer science as part of their basic education. The goal is to prepare young people for participation in the digital economy.
The Tech Bridge Program is structured to provide students with practical digital skills, innovation thinking, and entrepreneurial knowledge. Participants will be guided in developing technology-based solutions to real-world problems. Classes are delivered through live online sessions, allowing students and teachers from participating schools to engage interactively while learning emerging technology concepts.
Speaking at the launch, the Executive Director of the Induze Tech Foundation, Nwabueze Stanley Chilaka, said, “The goal of Tech Bridge is to move students beyond simply using technology to actually understanding how technology can be used to solve problems, build solutions, and create opportunities.”
He added that the initiative aims to bridge the gap between traditional classroom learning and the evolving digital world. “Tech Bridge exposes students to technology, digital creativity, and startup thinking at an early stage,” he said.
The programme will run through a series of online classes covering various aspects of digital innovation. After completing the learning phase, students will take part in a capstone project during the Easter holiday. In this project, they will develop startup ideas that address real-life challenges within their communities.
Selected projects will be presented at a Tech Bridge Exhibition scheduled for the third term. The exhibition will provide students with a platform to showcase their ideas, creativity, and innovations.
The initiative is implemented by a multidisciplinary team within the Induze Tech Foundation. The team is led by Nwabueze Stanley Chilaka, with Chima Ernest Okoli serving as Gender Specialist. Other members include Dorcas Edache, Operations Manager; Roseline Danjuma, Curriculum Developer; and Engr. Dennis Nwaogu, Technical Lead.
Supporting roles in the programme include Victor Okoro, Product Manager; Amarachi Okoro, Educational Psychologist; and Dr. Amba Ekure, Program Officer. The programme’s digital engagement and communication are coordinated by Ojekudo Oghenemaro Emmanuel, Social Media Lead, while Orisa Faith Priscillia, Queen Okari Ekine, and Precious Okari Ekine serve as Community and Teachers Managers.
On the technical side, Cletus Francis Udoh serves as Developer and Software Lead, and Ugonna Onyike, Trustee Secretary, provides governance and institutional support.
Educators participating in the initiative have welcomed the programme, describing it as a timely intervention that exposes students to practical digital knowledge and innovation-driven learning beyond the traditional curriculum.
With over 40 schools participating in the first phase, the Induze Tech Foundation aims to expand the programme across the FCT and eventually to other states. The foundation hopes the initiative will contribute to building a generation of digitally skilled and innovation-driven young Nigerians.
