Footy Moments With Nabila Foundation has launched Lace Up A Dream, a grassroots football programme aimed at supporting young players from underserved communities across Africa.
The initiative focuses on providing football boots to young players who show skill and commitment but lack access to basic resources. In its first phase, the Foundation has produced 200 pairs of football boots for grassroots players. The project is supported by Africa Bitcoin Community Hub and delivered in partnership with Afa Sports.
Alongside football development, the programme includes a focus on Bitcoin education and awareness. The boots produced under the initiative carry the Bitcoin logo, which the Foundation says is intended to encourage learning and discussion around digital finance and inclusion.
“The visible Bitcoin logo on the boots is deliberate,” the Foundation stated. “It represents opportunity, financial freedom, and education. Football is a powerful cultural connector in Africa, and we are using that platform to spark curiosity and conversations around Bitcoin adoption on the continent.”
Africa Bitcoin Community Hub is supporting the initiative as part of its wider work on financial inclusion and digital ownership. The Foundation says the partnership reflects a shared interest in creating access to financial knowledge for young people.
The collaboration with Afa Sports is also central to the project. According to the Foundation, the partnership supports African production and local value creation.
“Supporting African grassroots football must also mean supporting African brands. We cannot build wealth by taking our resources to the West. This partnership is about keeping value within Africa and proving that excellence can be built here.”
The football boots meet recognised performance and durability standards and are designed for local playing conditions. The Foundation says the programme is planned as an ongoing platform rather than a single distribution effort.
By linking football, enterprise, and financial education, Footy Moments With Nabila Foundation says Lace Up A Dream is designed to support talent development while expanding access to opportunity and knowledge across African communities.
