Victor Osimhen’s market valuation has reportedly surged from €75 million to €150 million, effectively doubling Galatasaray’s investment, according to club vice president Abdullah Kavukcu.
Kavukcu disclosed this in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport following Galatasaray’s dramatic progression to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 on Wednesday, highlighting the striker’s rapid appreciation in value since his permanent move from Napoli last summer.

From €75m Release Clause to €150m Valuation
Galatasaray triggered Osimhen’s €75 million release clause to secure his services, a move widely questioned at the time due to its financial scale. Critics labelled it a “bad investment.”
Kavukcu, however, has defended the decision, pointing to the forward’s immediate and sustained impact.
“When we bought him (Osimhen), many people described it as a bad investment. I think Victor Osimhen has proved everyone wrong, considering his value has doubled,” he said.
“We know he is one of the best centre-forwards in the world, and we want to achieve great things together.”
Since arriving at Rams Park, the 27-year-old Nigerian goal poacher has elevated Galatasaray’s attacking profile, strengthening their domestic dominance and European credentials.
Performance-Driven Surge
Osimhen’s rising valuation is anchored in elite production metrics. He has recorded 16 league goals and nine assists this season, underlining his efficiency, vertical threat and physical presence in the final third.
In Europe, he has been decisive, contributing eight goals and seven assists to propel Galatasaray into the Champions League Round of 16 for the first time in over a decade.
He also maintains a strong head-to-head record against Juventus, with six wins and two defeats in eight appearances against the Serie A side.
Growing Transfer Interest
Osimhen’s resurgence has predictably reignited interest from Europe’s elite. Clubs including Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring his situation, with PSG said to be willing to meet the €150 million valuation.
While independent market benchmarks may present more conservative figures, Galatasaray’s hierarchy clearly regards Osimhen as a €150 million asset, a significant capital appreciation on the €75 million clause activated just months ago.
