The OVL Foundation has reached more than 2,000 widows, single mothers and families with limited income through its “Megapraise FoodFest”, held across different parts of Nigeria.
The outreach delivered food items to beneficiaries, easing daily pressure on households affected by rising living costs. For many participants, the support offered relief and helped families meet basic needs during a period of strain.
The “Megapraise FoodFest” also served as a gathering point for prayer, praise and shared moments. Music, prayers and performances formed part of the programme, creating an atmosphere where participants could reflect, find comfort and regain a sense of purpose. Many attendees described the event as a reminder that their struggles are recognised and that support remains within reach.
Beyond food distribution, the programme encouraged connection among participants. Widows and single mothers shared experiences, exchanged words of support and built networks that may continue beyond the event. These interactions strengthened bonds within communities and reinforced collective responsibility.
According to the Foundation, its approach combines food support with skills training and faith-based engagement. Through prayer and guided reflection, participants are encouraged to find strength to face ongoing challenges and plan for their future.
Looking ahead, OVL Foundation has outlined plans to expand its reach between 2026 and 2030, with a target of reaching five million people across the country. The Foundation stated that future programmes will place attention on Northern Nigeria, including Internally Displaced Persons camps and communities affected by displacement.
As its work continues, OVL Foundation says it remains focused on reaching more people, sustaining support efforts and contributing to community stability across Nigeria.
