Gabriel Suswam, the Former Governor of Benue State, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Batholomew Bede, Suswam media aide, who confirmed his boss’s resignation in a telephone interview with our correspondent, said “yes, my boss has formally left PDP in a formal letter dated Wednesday, February 4, 2026, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Mbagber Council Ward in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State
However, Suswam’s media aide Bede disclosed that “as I am speaking to you now, the former senator and erstwhile governor is on his way to his council ward Mbagber to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Our correspondent gathered that Suswam’s decision to leave PDP was borne out of the Party’s years of persistent and unresolved internal conflicts, which many cited as irreconcilable differences that hindered effective participation and progress.
It was also observed that Suswam’s resignation has brought uncertainty in the Benue PDP chapter, following prior suspensions and factional disputes involving him and other prominent stakeholders.
