The Federal Government has urged Nigerians living in the Middle East to maintain close contact with Nigerian diplomatic missions in their respective countries as tensions continue to escalate across parts of the region.
The call was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in an advisory issued on Saturday in Abuja, which provided emergency contact numbers for Nigerian citizens who may require urgent assistance.
In the statement by Kimiebi Ebienfa, ministry’s spokesperson, Nigerians affected by the ongoing crisis in the Middle East were advised to immediately reach out to the nearest Nigerian embassy or consulate.
The ministry also urged citizens to ensure they were properly registered with Nigerian diplomatic missions in their country of residence to enable authorities provide timely assistance during emergencies.
According to the advisory, several Nigerian missions across the region have activated dedicated emergency lines to support citizens who may face security or humanitarian challenges arising from the crisis.
The government listed the Embassy of Nigeria, Tehran as one of the missions providing emergency support.
Nigerians in Iran were advised to contact the embassy through the following numbers: +98 937 685 1897, +98 933 951 5348, +98 930 972 9965, and +234 906 768 4063.
Similarly, Nigerians residing in Israel were asked to reach out to the Embassy of Nigeria, Tel Aviv via +972 547115279 or +234 7064263944 for emergency assistance.
In the United Arab Emirates, Nigerians can contact the Embassy of Nigeria, Abu Dhabi on +971 56 884 4130, while those in Dubai were directed to the Consulate-General of Nigeria, Dubai through +971 56 377 8678.
The government also listed the Embassy of Nigeria, Kuwait, which covers Bahrain, with emergency lines +965 9789 5737 and +965 99509288.
Nigerians in Qatar were advised to contact the Embassy of Nigeria, Doha through +974 3019 7102 and +974 3019 7261.
For citizens in Lebanon, the Embassy of Nigeria, Beirut provided the numbers +961 78 861 779 and +234 8038954425.
Those residing in Saudi Arabia were directed to reach the Embassy of Nigeria, Riyadh via +966 542149456 or +966 565695763, while Nigerians in Jeddah can contact the Consulate-General of Nigeria, Jeddah through +966 56 096 5633.
In Jordan, which also covers Iraq, Nigerians were asked to reach the Embassy of Nigeria, Amman through +962 777369428 or +962 776594020.
The ministry said the advisory was part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian government to ensure the safety and welfare of its citizens abroad amid the evolving security situation in the Middle East.
It urged Nigerians in the region to remain vigilant, comply with local authorities, and maintain regular contact with the nearest Nigerian diplomatic mission for updates and assistance.
