Hassana Shuaibu Dada, Assistant National Youth Leader (North Central) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over what she described as selective prosecutions involving former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
In a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, she said that the anti-graft agency’s actions were politically motivated and aimed at weakening the ADC’s growing influence.
Malami and El-Rufai, who are key leaders of the ADC are currently facing separate probes by the EFCC.
But the ADC’s assistant national youth leader argued that the prosecutions were part of a broader effort to undermine the opposition and shield the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from credible competition.
“The selective prosecutions of our leaders, Hon. Abubakar Malami and Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, through the EFCC are clearly politically motivated efforts to weaken the ADC because we represent a real alternative to the ruling party,” Dada stated.
The ADC youth leader expressed solidarity with the affected figures and party members nationwide, insisting that the development would not deter the party.
“These efforts will not intimidate us; instead, they will only strengthen our unity and resolve,” she added.
Dada reaffirmed the ADC’s commitment to justice, inclusion and national renewal, urging Nigerians to remain vigilant and support what she described as a credible platform for accountable governance.
