Rising Manchester United striker Chido Obi has revealed the key advice given to him by manager Ruben Amorim: “Be humble and keep working hard every day.”
The 17-year-old forward made his debut for the Red Devils on February 16 as a late substitute against Tottenham Hotspur and has since made four more appearances from the bench, including in Sunday’s defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Chido Obi has enjoyed first-team exposure this season and could be set for further Premier League fixtures as United shift focus to the Europa League.

Although he is not registered for European competition, he may be called upon for league matches, with Joshua Zirkzee ruled out for the rest of the season and Rasmus Hojlund the only fit senior striker.
Speaking to United’s in-house media, Chido Obi shared Amorim’s advice:
“He’s just told me to be humble and keep working hard every day. Hopefully, I get more opportunities soon. My dad and mum always told me to be a good person and listen to my coaches because they want me to get better, so it’s good.”
Training alongside the first team has fast-tracked his development:
“I’ve learnt to be smart and to think quicker by training with the first team because the game is quicker compared to academy football. It helps me a lot, training with them every day.”
Chido Obi is viewed as one of the club’s brightest young prospects and will be hoping to make a bigger impact in the coming weeks.
