Marcus Koko Yake, a Retired Brigadier-General and Bauchi State Gung Zaar of Zaar Chiefdom, has cautioned youths against inappropriate use of social media and selling of substances like chaskale, dry gin, and other illicit drugs to desist from such acts with immediate effect.
The monarch gave the warning when he recieved the delegation from Bogoro Local Government Area of the State at his Palace, the Tafawa-Balewa Palace.
He said his reign woukd be anchored on the principle of justice, equity and fairness without paying attention to tribal, ethnic and religious coloration.
The monarch said that he had informed the Divisional Police Officers of Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa LGAs, the JTF Commandant, and other security agencies within the Chiefdom to fully assume their constitutional responsibilities in eliminating all forms of criminality.
He further declared that henceforth, anyone found engaging in criminal acts would face the full weight of the law, and no individual would be permitted to obstruct or interfere with the operations of security agencies.
He warned against illegal blocking Bauchi-Dawaki expressway, stating that such practices must cease immediately, added that anyone with grievances is advised to channel their concerns through the appropriate authorities rather than resorting to disruptive actions.
The monarch appealed to members of the public to be wary of taking law into their own hands and avoid any act capable of undermining the chiefdom.
He called on all Zaar sons and daughters at home or in the diaspora to unite and fight the common enemy of poverty and social vices confronting the chiefdom for years.
Responding, Yakubu Lawi Sumi, Chairman, Bogoro Local Government, said they were in the Monarch Palace to congratulate him and to extend the Council gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed, who graciously approved the establishment of the Zaar Chiefdom.
Sumi, Council Chairman, reiterated his Sdministration determination to working with the Zaar Chiefdom for the common good of all.
He urged people to continue praying for Bauchi State, Nigeria and the whole world to leave peacefully with one another.
