The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has charged newly recruited police officers to uphold professionalism and integrity, warning them against using their uniforms to intimidate, harass, or extort citizens.
Speaking during an address at the parade ground, the Commissioner reminded the recruits that their new positions come with responsibility, not power abuse. He emphasised that the police uniform symbolises service, protection, and trust, not oppression.
“You are now representatives of the Nigeria Police Force,” Aliyu said. “Your uniform signifies not just authority but the trust and responsibility bestowed upon you. The citizens of Bauchi State and Nigeria expect you to exemplify the highest standards of discipline, professionalism, and integrity.”
He noted that all newly recruited constables will be deployed across the 20 Local Government Areas of Bauchi State to strengthen grassroots policing and enhance community safety.

The CP urged the officers to embody the Force’s core values of discipline, loyalty, courage, and respect for human rights, stressing their vital role in rebuilding public trust and improving security in their various communities.
“Your uniform should symbolize protection, not be used to intimidate, harass, or extort citizens. It represents a commitment to serve and safeguard the public space,” he said.
Aliyu also warned the recruits against the misuse of social media and reminded them to strictly adhere to the Nigeria Police Act, 2020, which prohibits unprofessional conduct that could tarnish the image of the Force.
He commended the instructors and staff of the Police Training School, Bauchi, for their dedication to shaping the next generation of police officers, and urged the recruits to remain vigilant and dedicated as they begin their national assignments.
“Bauchi State is recognized as one of the most peaceful and orderly regions in Nigeria,” the CP added. “Your contributions are crucial to sustaining law and order and preserving our legacy of peace and security.”
Aliyu also expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police and the Police Service Commission (PSC) for their continuous support in training and human capital development across the Force.
