The campaign which comes in three different video messages of one minute each is a reminder that Nigerian citizens, whether drivers, commuters especially, have a major role to play in clear understanding of the responsibility for their own safety.
The foundation also noted that Nigeria’s road safety dilemma is not solely infrastructural.
The self-motivated campaign from AFF is in a bid to curb high rate of road accidents that claim lives daily.
Relying on Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC data, AFF said that in 2025 alone, there were 10,446 crashes, 38,689 casualties, and 5,289 deaths, a 9.2% rise.
“These are not just numbers; they are unfinished stories, extinguished potentials, and families condemned to perpetual grief because of choices, often reckless, often avoidable”, Akin Fadeyi , Executive Director of AFF said recently while launching the campaign.
The campaign messages delivered in relatable, emotionally resonant storytelling, scripted in-house and performed by respected Nollywood veterans was designed to checkmate over-speeding, improper overtaking, driving under influence of alcohol , illegal parking, overloading among other road infractions.
Believing on the positive expected impact of the campaign to reduce road accidents, Fadeyi called upon the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation to amplify the campaign across national platforms.
“To the Nigerian public institutions, agencies, private organisations, civil society, artists, influencers, faith communities, and every citizen who believes Nigeria’s future is worth fighting for, this is your campaign as much as it is ours. Share this one-minute drama. Broadcast it. Engage with it. Allow it to find life in our conversations, our classrooms, our offices, our mosques, our churches, our marketplaces, our airwaves, and across every platform where culture is shaped”
AFF is known for campaigns against anti-social vices such as corruption and according to Fadeyi, “AFF will continue to promote our work on behavioural change. We will continue to raise awareness with passion, precision, and persistence. But we call upon well-meaning Nigerians, institutions, agencies, and partners across all sectors to join hands with us”.
