Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has declared that the National Assembly is now ready to revisit amendment of the Constitution to include issues agitating the minds of Nigerians which were earlier omitted.
Recall that the National Assembly had rejected issues such as devolution of powers to the states and local governments, as well as restructuring in the just concluded amendments.
But Dogara, while speaking with the State House Correspondents shortly after attending a meeting of the Nigerian Governors Forum at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, last night, said they are now ready to revisit the exercise to make it more impactful.
Dogara who stated that they are aware of the ongoing agitations in the country, added that the law makers will not close their ears to issues being canvassed by Nigerians.

” Some are calling for restricting , which some call true Federalism. This is an an issue on the manifestos of the APC. It is our feelings as a very responsive and responsible representatives of the people to ensure that this debate is done.
“And I agree, like l said before, that the position of the President that most of these matters and issues should be canvassed at the levels of the National Assembly”
“This is because some of the structural imbalances that we are talking about that need what they call restructuring cannot be corrected just by s stroke of the pen”
