Abeokuta was brought to a halt on Saturday, August 23, 2025, as top political leaders, royal fathers, media executives, military chiefs and Nollywood stars converged for the glamorous Nikkah ceremony of Faizah Omoteniola Kolapo, daughter of Yemi Kolapo, Publisher of The Point Newspaper and Iya Sunnah of Egbaland, and AbdulHakeem Jimoh, son of Brig. Gen. Olanrewaju Jimoh (rtd).
The event, held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Marquee, drew an extraordinary guest list. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and wife Bola led the roll call, joined by Emir of Kano, HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II; former Ogun State Governors, Ibikunle Amosun and Olusegun Osoba; the Olowu of Owu, Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola, and prominent politicians, clerics, diplomats, journalists, and captains of industry.
From the media came past and present leaders of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, senior journalists, and top communications executives from UBA, Access Bank, and BUA. Senior military officers, serving and retired, were also in attendance, alongside Nollywood stars including Oga Bello, Bimbo Akintola, Fathia Balogun, Toyin Abraham, and Madam Saje.

Clerics led by the Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheikh Saadallah Bamgbola, presided over the Nikkah, while Prof. Kamaldeen Balogun delivered the marriage lecture stressing patience, loyalty, and mutual respect. Emir Sanusi urged the couple to build their home on love and compassion.
Fuji maestro K1 De Ultimate electrified the reception with a stellar performance, capping off a day that blended tradition, glamour, and spirituality.
Expressing her pride, Dr. Yemi Kolapo said, “I feel super proud that I raised a lovely daughter. My message to them is to live in peace, shut out intruders, love each other and grow together.”
