ADIC Insurance, one of the leading insurance companies in Nigeria, in a bid to remain an employer of choice, has raised the bar on employee relations as it has introduced various policies geared towards achieving customer and employee satisfaction.
This is according to the company’s Head, Human Capital Management, Vivian Ikwuneme, who was spaeking to journalists in her office in Lagos,
ADIC Insurance is committed to fostering a healthy work environment in which employees are fully engaged and productive and are introducing a variety of initiatives to further this aim, Ikwuneme said,
She added that the policies include “flexible working and innovative family-friendly policies”.

Ikwuneme further stated that the company places more emphasis on employee value or contribution rather than just being present.
“By offering our employees flexible working options, we are demonstrating our commitment as a forward-thinking employer to employee work-life balance schemes to suit individual needs. The flexi-time work initiative provides for a variable work schedule which allows employees to sign up to a flexible working arrangement outside the core office hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. and subject to the employee achieving a total of 8 hours of measurable work daily. For example, an employee opting to commence work at 7.00 a.m. will be required to work until 4.00 p.m. with an hour’s break midway through the day,” she said.
She said that new employee relations strategies are embedded with clear benefits to the company’s employee, the employer and clients. “Our employees are able to adopt working hours to suit their personal circumstances; they are more engaged and productive as a result. The scheme aids the recruitment and retention of staff and demonstrates our commitment to provide equal opportunities to employees who face challenges in working standard hours. Our clients will benefit from the additional service resulting from our extended hours,” she said.
Ikwuneme disclosed that, as a pro-family employer, ADIC Insurance offers an innovative maternity package which includes 16 weeks maternity leave and paternity leave on the birth of the child, making us one of the few companies and certainly the only Nigerian insurance company to do so.
“Our innovative family-friendly policies and our consistent good practice earned us the Great Places to Work Award in 2012. We are working hard to make the name ADIC Insurance an NSIA Company synonymous with customer and employee satisfaction,” she said.
