Anambra at 25: Obi of Onitsha to deliver anniversary lecture Monday
His Royal Highness, Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, will Monday deliver a lecture to mark the twenty-five years anniversary of Anambra State.
Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, who is the current chairman of Diamond Bank plc, was among the first set of Nigerians nominated to the senior executive course of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Plateau State.
The lecture, which holds at the Women Development Centre, Awka, has as its theme “Think Nigeria, Invest in Anambra (Aku luo uno).
The anniversary lecture is part of several events carefully outlined to showcase the potentials of Anambra State. Other events outlined to celebrate Anambra at 25, includes a cultural carnival and trade fair.
The lecture is targeted at giving a historic rendition of the struggles of past years, the achievement of today and the vision for tomorrow.
Charles Omelu, managing director, Pandora Events Limited, an event management firm that is working closely with the State Government to ensure the success of the events, however solicited sponsorship from Anambra citizens, corporate bodies and friends of the State, to mark the 25th anniversary of the State.
“If you know that what Anambra is doing is good, please partner us, because celebration takes away pain and sorrow. We call on all our friends to join us celebrate the State at 25, because peace and security that exists in the State calls for investment in the State.
He also stated that the State Government is offering tax rebates to sponsors in line with the corporate Social Responsibility activities.
“Today we can boast that Anambra State is the most peaceful place to do business in the South-East region and country at large, so, we are calling on our Igbo sons and daughters that have many businesses elsewhere to also invest in the East and especially, Anambra, “he advised.
