Deputy British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ray Kyles, says Nigeria’s trade and investment are now more encouraging for British investors.
He said this at the launch of One World Logistics and Freight Limited (OWL and FL), which held at The British Residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Speaking about the opportunities available for trade and investment in Nigeria, Kyles said: “With about 22 milion individuals in Lagos State alone, there is a lot that could happen with trade and investment in this country. I was extremely glad to present the vision of what Britain wants to support in this agenda and in terms of trying to track these investments from British companies to trade and do business in Nigeria.
“I have been impressed since my arrival in the country with the will and the wish of Nigerians to succeed, and I think that is infectious, and it will see this country through. I am convinced particularly on the election of a new president who knows exactly what this country needs and his determination to grow trade and investment opportunities.
“It is my job to bring people together to see how Britain and Nigeria can do more work together and in particular, in this occasion, to showcase and help support British companies looking to build that bridge and look at business opportunities that can join together Nigeria and UK.”
Also speaking at the event, Michael Francis, the West Africa regional director of One World Logistics and Freight Limited, said OWL and FL was a leading service provider in the movement of small packages to the Middle East and Africa region.
“Our success in this geographical axis, and globally is hinged on three operational tenets, namely, our unflinching focus on customer satisfaction, our quest to deploy appropriate technology solutions and services and our passion for people,” Francis said.
A company based in the United Kingdom and in operation since 2010, OWL and FL ships goods into Africa with the ability to deliver goods within the shortest possible time.
Talking about the business opportunity gap OWL and FL found with Nigerians and cargo delivery from abroad, Afolabi Oke, director, OWL said: “We are located in Heathrow Terminal 5, which is the hub for Nigerians travelling in and out of the country, and we all know that Nigerians love to shop. So, instead of worrying about how to fit all your shopping into your already overweighed luggage, you can just drop them with us for delivery to the front of your door step.”
