The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has elevated 265 officers and personnel to new ranks, marking a significant boost to its operational strength in the state.
The decoration ceremony was performed by Mohammed Hassan Agalama, state commandant of the Corp, Friday, at the Command Headquarters in Kano, followed promotions approved by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board.
Addressing the occasion, Agalama described the promotions as a reward for hard work, discipline and consistent commitment to service. He urged them to view their new ranks not as a privilege, but as a renewed call to greater responsibility and exemplary conduct.

“Your elevation is a recognition of your dedication, discipline, selfless service and commitment to duty,” the Commandant said, stressing that higher rank comes with higher expectations.
He reminded the officers to remain guided by the core values of the Corps—integrity, patriotism, loyalty, professionalism and respect for constituted authority—while carrying out their duties across the state.
Agalama also issued a stern warning against indiscipline and unprofessional behaviour, noting that the Command would not tolerate any action capable of undermining the image of the Corps.
According to him, teamwork, professionalism and strict adherence to operational guidelines are essential to the NSCDC’s mandate of safeguarding critical national assets and ensuring public safety in Kano State.
The event drew a wide range of dignitaries, including, Abdulhakim Kamilu Ado, a member of the House of Representatives representing Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency, and senior officers of the Corps, as well as representatives of sister security agencies, family members and well-wishers.
