Four persons have been reportedly kidnapped along Igbeti-Kishi road in Oyo State, BusinessDay has learnt.
It was learnt that the unknown gunmen waylaid some passenger buses travelling along Igbeti-Kishi road, the forest reserves between Oyo-Kwara axis of the Country, and were successful in kidnapping four passengers.
Confirming the abduction, Ayanlade Olayinka, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Oyo State Police Command, said upon the receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police in the State immediately directed the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) of Kishi and Igbeti Divisions as well as other tactical teams to swing into action.

The Oyo State Police Commissioner directed the Police formations to deploy all necessary operational assets to ensure safe rescue of the victims, prompt arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators.
He said that coordinated search and rescue efforts were ongoing with security operatives, combing the surrounding areas and intensifying intelligence gathering to track down the suspects.
The Command remains resolute in its commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and urges members of the public to remain calm while providing any useful information that could assist ongoing operations.
