The African Heritage Awards (AFRIHeritage) will return for its fourth edition on 11 April in Accra, Ghana, where distinguished African and global personalities, as well as leading brands, will be honoured for their contributions across various sectors.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra and is expected to draw over 1,000 attendees from across Africa and the diaspora, including policymakers, business leaders, creatives and representatives of top brands.
Organised by Heritage Times HT, the awards platform aims to recognise outstanding Africans who have made significant contributions to leadership, public service, business, philanthropy, culture, media, science and technology, as well as social impact across the continent and beyond.
In a statement issued on Monday in Accra, the organisers announced that nominees for the 2026 edition include Dr Akinwumi A. Adesina, Honorary President and former President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB); Dame Marcella Liburd, Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis; Antoinette Monsio Sayeh, former Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF); Professor Lesley Lokko, Founder and Chair of the African Futures Institute; and Dr Collen Mashawana, Founder and Chairman of the Collen Mashawana Foundation, among other prominent figures and brands.

The awards have previously been held in Rwanda, Nigeria and Morocco. According to the organisers, moving the event to Ghana continues its aim of sustaining a pan-African platform dedicated to celebrating African excellence and heritage.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Times HT, Moses Siloko Siasia, said the 2026 edition would bring together influential figures from across sectors in what he described as a celebration of excellence, heritage and Africa’s enduring contributions to global progress.
He noted that hosting the awards in Ghana forms part of efforts to promote Afrocentrism and encourage a culture that highlights Africa’s achievements while inspiring initiatives that advance the continent’s potential.
Siasia added that nominees were selected through a rigorous, committee-driven process designed to uphold integrity and excellence. A multidisciplinary management committee evaluated candidates based on measurable impact, leadership, consistency and their contributions to projecting Africa’s image globally.
Beyond the awards ceremony, the event will feature panel discussions and networking sessions aimed at fostering collaboration across sectors. The organisers said the discussions would bring together African icons, senior public officials, global chief executives, investors and thought leaders to examine Africa’s progress and explore practical pathways for continental advancement and partnerships.
Attendance at the event will be by invitation and ticket purchase. Further information is available on the AFRIHeritage Awards website.
