Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has named a 25-player squad for the team’s double-header friendlies against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in Yaoundé.
The matches, scheduled for February 28 and March 3, will serve as final preparations for Nigeria’s title defence at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade leads the list alongside goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and forwards Esther Okoronkwo and Chinwendu Ihezuo.
Canada-based midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene returns to the squad after a two-year absence, while forward Gift Monday, now playing in the United States, is also back after missing last year’s Women’s AFCON triumph in Morocco.
England-based goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor has received her maiden call-up, while Mexico-based defender Chidinma Okeke returns to the 10-time African champions. Tanzania-based midfielder Precious Christopher has also earned her first invitation.
Regulars, including Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, Oluwatosin Demehin, Ashleigh Plumptre, Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Deborah Abiodun, Jennifer Echegini, Rinsola Babajide and Folashade Ijamilusi retain their spots.
Road to WAFCON 2026 and Brazil 2027
The Super Falcons, who secured their historic 10th African title in Morocco last year, will return to the North African kingdom for the 13th edition of the tournament from March 17 to April 3, 2026.
Super Falcons, 10-time continental champions, have been drawn in Group C alongside Malawi, Zambia and Egypt. The stakes are exceptionally high, as all four semi-finalists in Morocco will earn an automatic ticket to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
