President Bola Tinubu on Sunday, met with Keith Heffern, the Charge D’Affairs U.S Embassy in Nigeria, as well as Dagvin Anderson , Commander AFRICOM, top officials of the AFRICOM, Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, as well as Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Although, details of the meeting were not immediately available, the meeting was also attended by Command Sergeant Major Garric M. Banfield, Command Senior Enlisted Leader, United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) and Senior Foreign Policy Adviser, AFRICOM, Amb. Peter Vrooman.
Viral photos from the meeting released by the State House Media department said the AFRICOM delegation had paid a visit to President Tinubu, on Sunday.

Recall that following the plans by the United States President, Donald Trump, to tackle insecurity in Nigeria, Anderson had recently revealed that the US President approved the deployment of a military team to Nigeria.
The US President had on Christmas day, attacked the Islamic militants in Sokoto killing dozens of the terrorists, with a vow to follow up with more military actions, as part of efforts to end terrorism in Nigeria.
Presidency sources said the visit by the AFRICOM team was part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the US plans to end the activities of the terrorists, who are now focusing on soft targets, ravaging innocent communities and ungoverned spaces to achieve their aims.
