The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has cautioned members of the public against fraudulent websites circulating online and falsely claiming to be conducting recruitment into the service.
It warned that such platforms are designed to defraud unsuspecting job seekers.
In a disclaimer issued on Tuesday through its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the NIS clarified that it is not currently running any independent recruitment exercises.
The Service stressed that any claim suggesting otherwise should be treated as false and misleading.
According to the NIS, the only legitimate recruitment exercise involving the agency is the ongoing process being coordinated by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), which oversees recruitment for paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior.

The Service urged prospective applicants to rely strictly on information released through the official CDCFIB recruitment portal, noting that all authentic updates and application details regarding the exercise are available exclusively via recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.
It further warned that any recruitment portal, website, link or advertisement circulating outside the CDCFIB platform is unauthorised and should be completely disregarded by the public.
The NIS also advised Nigerians, particularly job seekers, to remain vigilant and exercise caution when seeking employment opportunities, stressing that fraudsters often exploit recruitment processes to scam desperate applicants.
The Service reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and due process in recruitment and encouraged members of the public to verify information through official government channels to avoid falling victim to online scams.
