The Kwara State House of Assembly has passed a sum of N656,595,559,298.49 as the 2026 budget for the State.
The passage of N656,595,559,298.49 as the budget size for the year represents an increase of 10,590,742,405.49 over the initial estimate of N646,004,816,893 presented before the House by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in December 2025, which was for consideration and approval.

The passage of the budget was sequel to the presentation of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation.
Arinola Fatimoh Lawal, the Committee Chairman, laid the report at the plenary, which Yakubu Danladi Salihu, the Speaker, presided.
Danladi explained that the adjustments were made to ensure prudent financial management and to support the effective implementation of government programmes and projects in Kwara State, praising the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, under the chairmanship of Ariola Fatimah Lawal, for her support.

The Speaker further appreciated the heads and officials of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the state for their cooperation and support to the House during and after the ministerial project presentations across the various sectors.
The Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to prepare and transmit a clean copy of the budget to the Governor for his assent.
