Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, has charged 30 newly deployed to the command to effectively apply their training, skills, and professional knowledge to enhance policing outcomes across Kano State.
Receiving the newly deployed Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) from Police Academy, Wudil, Tuesday, Bakori described their deployment as a timely opportunity to strengthen operational efficiency, leadership capacity, and service delivery within the Command.
He emphasized that the newly trained officers are expected to introduce modern policing skills, innovation, and renewed professional zeal into their respective divisions, thereby improving overall police performance.
The Commissioner congratulated the ASPs on the successful completion of their training and urged them to translate theory into practice by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and exemplary conduct in the discharge of their duties.
He noted that the ethical and responsible application of their skills would be critical to building public trust and boosting the effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.
Bakori further charged the officers to use their positions to strengthen crime prevention, law enforcement, and community engagement initiatives, while remaining steadfast in the protection of human rights, stressing that their conduct must consistently reflect the core values of the Force—integrity, professionalism, and selfless service.
Highlighting the importance of people-centered policing, the Commissioner urged the newly deployed officers to be approachable, fair, and respectful in their interactions with members of the public. He also emphasized collaboration with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders as a key strategy for sustaining peace and security in Kano State.
The Commissioner further underscored the responsibility of the officers to protect vulnerable groups, particularly women and children, and to adopt proactive measures in addressing gender-based violence, human trafficking, and other related crimes.
The ASPs are to assume duty with immediate effect, with expectations that their skills and leadership will enhance supervision, improve response time, and further strengthen the capacity of the Kano State Police Command in maintaining law and order across the state.
