The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reaffirmed its commitment to operational excellence, safety, quality service delivery and environmental sustainability with the adoption of a comprehensive Integrated Management System (IMS) Policy.
The policy statement, signed by Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director/Chief Executive of FAAN, was made public on Tuesday via her official X handle.
According to the statement, the IMS policy is aimed at strengthening the Authority’s statutory mandate of managing and operating all Federal Government–owned commercial airports across the country, while ensuring the delivery of safe, secure and high-quality services to all stakeholders.

FAAN noted that the policy covers a wide range of stakeholders, including travelling passengers, airport host communities, employees and the environment, while promoting the efficient use of natural resources to support sustainable development within Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem.
“The Authority remains committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations, while continually improving its Integrated Management System to ensure operational excellence, stakeholder satisfaction and the highest standards of safety and operational integrity,” the statement read.
The policy further emphasizes FAAN’s resolve to proactively identify, manage and eliminate risks, while consistently delivering world-class airport services.
As part of the IMS framework, FAAN pledged to fully integrate quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) considerations into its daily operations, ensure that airports and workplaces remain conducive for all users, and prevent pollution, injuries and ill health.
The Authority also committed to compliance with international standards, including ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System requirements, as well as other relevant legal and regulatory obligations.
Other key elements of the policy include continuous documentation, implementation and improvement of the integrated management system, staff training and awareness, open engagement with stakeholders, lessons learned from incidents and accidents, prevention of alcohol and drug use in the workplace, and sustained focus on customer satisfaction.
FAAN also underscored its intention to contribute to the development of sustainable energy systems and technologies, demonstrate leadership commitment to quality and environmental excellence, and ensure that the quality of its services meets their intended outcomes.
The Authority stated that the IMS policy will be communicated, understood and implemented across all levels of the organization, aligned with clear objectives and reviewed periodically to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness in line with evolving business needs.
