Speaking after collecting the honour, elated Osimhen expressed gratitude to the organisers, Galatasaray, and the fans.
“I want to say a big thank you to GQ. Can’t forget my Galatasaray family,” Osimhen said.
“This means so much to my family and me. I appreciate everyone who has supported me up to this hour,” he said. “I will continue to do my best for my family, for Galatasaray, and for the fans all over the world.”
Osimhen’s journey in Turkey has been remarkable. Initially joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli at the start of the 2024/25 season, his prolific form convinced the club to make the move permanent in a record-breaking €75 million transfer, the highest fee ever paid in Turkish football.
His rise, impact, and consistency have cemented his status as one of the league’s standout performers and now the 2025 Sportsman of the Year in Turkey.
