The Nigerian Maritime Law Association (NMLA), an affiliate of the Comité Maritime International (CMI), has elected a new Executive Committee to lead the organisation for the next term. The election took place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, during the Association’s 16th Annual General Meeting.
Mr. Mike Igbokwe, SAN, FCArb, FBR, emerged as the new President of the Association. He will be supported by Professor Adewale Adedamola Olawoyin, SAN, FCIArb, as First Vice President, and Dr. Emeka Akabogu, SAN, as Second Vice President.
Other elected officers include Mrs. Nneka Obianyor, FCArb, as Honorary Secretary; Mr. ‘Nonso Azih as Assistant Secretary; Chief Omolola Ikwuagwu, FCIArb, as Treasurer; Ms. Kashimana Tsumba as Financial Secretary; and Mrs. Mojisola Jaiye-Gbenle as Publicity Secretary.
Members of the Association welcomed the new leadership, expressing confidence in their ability to strengthen maritime legal practice and support ongoing efforts to advance the development and administration of maritime law in Nigeria.
