Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has dismissed as false and malicious, the recent rumours alleging that he plans to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), along with five other governors.
The defection rumour had circulated widely on social media, suggesting he was on the way out of the APC with many citing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a likely destination following its adoption by the coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and others.
Reacting to the rumour, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, Governor Zulum described the report as a politically motivated fabrication designed to cause unnecessary tension and distraction from the work of rebuilding Borno State.
“We have become aware of a fictitious and mischievous social media report circulating in certain quarters, alleging plans by me to decamp from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alongside five other governors.

We remain resolute in our commitment to serving Borno State under the banner of our great party, the APC.” the statement read.
Govrrnor Zulum stressed that his commitment to the APC remains unwavering and that he remains focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Borno.
