X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, experienced widespread service disruptions on Monday, with users in multiple countries reporting connectivity issues.
Thousands of outage reports appeared across regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and India, indicating a significant interruption in access.
According to monitoring site Downdetector, reports of problems spiked to more than 25,000 around 13:00 GMT.
After roughly an hour of downtime, the service was restored and is now functioning again. At the moment, the company has not explained the interruption.
This isn’t the first time X has faced such technical problems: a similar outage occurred in March 2025.
Other major platforms and infrastructure services, such as Cloudflare, Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS, which have also faced interruptions in the past year, resulting in temporary outages for X and other popular apps and sites.
