The word miracle alone means divinity in humanity which is a rarity. It seems like a far-fetched word meant for only pastors or other men of God. It does not sound like words meant for the marketplace or people in the marketplace. How on earth would we relate miracles to the marketplace let alone its performance? At no point were we ever excused from working miracles as children of God anywhere and at any time. And the working of miracle is not designated to a particular place, sect or creed. In fact, it is “meant to be commonplace”. Scripture says “these signs shall follow them that believe in my name…” (Mark 16:17-20).
The signs being spoken about here are not road signs or marks on the body to indicate a function, rather they are the unusual, incredulous acts of God daily experienced by man in his day to day business.
Do you believe in His name, have you confessed Jesus as your Lord and personal saviour – born again? Then it is you this is meant for irrespective of your vocation, location or doctrine. Your life as a child of God is not meant to be lived on Sunday alone and in Church. Your life which is God’s life resident in you is your life whether at work, in church or in the marketplace. The design of God for man is that any child of God with the life of God in him or her is a sign going somewhere to happen… (Is. 8:18). Every encounter of Jesus that birthed miracles was encounter that took place in the marketplace – the place of activities, the place of people’s businesses. The flow of the power of God as limitless as it is, is only limited to the extent of our belief.
Let me drive home a point on how I have worked miracles in my business on several occasions through the agency of the spoken word of God. They are not one-off, they are everyday affair. How do you succeed in an environment of constant odds? That is a million dollar question!
I had a job to do for a client, a very renowned client that trusted the capacity of my company to handle the project. It was a harrowing experience remembering it, but it must be narrated. The entire project collapsed in the course of the operation not once, not twice. At every juncture of the incident, we developed more capacity and improved our capacity but all to no avail; it was like we were destined not to make a success of the project. You can imagine how I must have felt as the team-lead. It was an unpleasant experience, being an ordinary staff would have made my day because I shouldered no responsibility. Here I was the team-lead with a heavy responsibility. And the enemy did what he knew best to do- cheering you to failure.
No moment went without screaming voices tormenting my mind about it being over that we should throw in the towel, that we had failed woefully. It was supposed to be a shameful experience and ordinarily, the chapter should have been closed against my company. But in the midst of this supposedly serious challenge, the WORD of God came ALIVE in my spirit and birthed hope and confidence. How on earth could I have forgotten the purpose of THE WORD, the ESSENCE that it was for times like this? You cannot have the WORD and lose in the WORLD. The WORD cannot be alive in your mouth and things die in your hands. I remembered it was God that opened that door in the first place and not a man, it was God that gave this project not a man, there is no way I was going to call it quits with my renewed understanding in the WORD. There is no way I was going to close the door that God opened by agreeing with the devil that it was over. By this time, I could recognise the words of the wicked one, they are always words filled with discouragement, hopelessness, helplessness and sadness.
My spiritual understanding knew that if I should agree with what my eyes can see then it was over. If I should throw in the towel and call it quits then it was over. I remember I began to spew out the WORD of God into the situation refusing to agree with the fact that it was over. I began to speak life and declare to the atmosphere that it was not over for me and it can never be over with me in this place and on this project, as long as I am in disagreement with the circumstance surrounding me. I remembered Jesus bringing life to the dead and I condemned the situation. I remembered him reversing the irreversible, calling things that be not as though they were. I began to inject life into the situation; speaking what I desired to see not what I was seeing. You cannot blame me for being a stickler to the truth of the WORD of God, what else could I have done in such a situation? Who else was capable of helping out in such a near-disaster situation? Only God could have, and He did in grand style! Many-sided cases of such challenges/incidents abound that the WORD bailed me out of.
To prove to you that the WORD works, in the same place where we were supposed to be forgotten, we were awarded more projects and it was unto me according to my word as God said it. Every child of God in the marketplace is a minister of God and our great priority is to work miracles in the marketplace. The circumstances that stare us in the face are our opportunities to perform miracles. Nothing is expected to die in our hands or nothing lost because of the life of God we carry. Because we carry God every knee, negative circumstances and situations, must bow now in the name of Jesus!
You are a miracle working child of God with the capacity to work same in the marketplace. The power of God exists to help you out in every tight situation. But you cannot access it except you believe you carry it and that it can work for you. Beloved, stop wasting power in the marketplace, get busy putting the devil to shame by employing the miracle-working power of the Almighty.
